I have the honour to report for the informa-

tion of the Government regarding the work of the Tung Wa

Hospital during the three months,1st.July to 30th, September

of this year.

I append a table showing the number of cas es

treated during the quarter, with statistics of the corres-

poncing quarter of 1896; and it will be seen that, as was the

case auring the second quarter of the year, there is a large

increase in the number of patients this year as compared

with last year.

Of the 924 cases treated,114 were treated by

Dr. Chung according to Western methods, and I append a fur-

ther table showing the diseases that came under his care.

Nineteen cases were discharged to be submitted to foreign

treatment elsewhere, as follows: seven to Government Civil

Hospital,nine to Kennedy Town Hospital, two to Alice Meno-
